Duties

Oversee selection, adoption and support of instructional technology tools for the School of Arts & Sciences. Keeps abreast of trends in higher educations. Coordinate with Center for Teaching & Learning, Penn Courseware Advisory group, and other instructional technology leaders at Penn to evaluate new tools, identify best practices, conduct pilot tests and help faculty to use technology effectively in their teaching. Maintain expert-level understanding of Canvas, Panopto videos, polling systems and other primary teaching tools. Work directly with faculty or departments with complex, large scale or strategic projects. Supervise first-tier support providers, including both full-time and part-time staff; manage schedules, budget and performance. Assure prompt and effective response to requests for assistance. Identify new work and opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of support.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters degree and at least 7 years professional experience in higher education instructional technology support strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience with Canvas LMS required; experience with Panopto Video system, PollEverywhere, Piazza and other LTI tools highly preferred. Professional demeanor required to work effectively with senior faculty and administrators. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously required.
