Rothesay Netherwood School is a school of 270 students. While many of our students are Atlantic Canadian, we also have a broad spectrum of students from around the world. More information on our school can be found on our website: www.rns.cc.

Rothesay Netherwood School is looking for someone to fill the role of STEAM Coordinator. The essential duties and responsibilities include instructing all Middle School students in STEAM-based science classes; participating in curriculum development; identifying and developing interdisciplinary connections; and aiding in the development of STEAM teaching and learning. The Coordinator promotes and runs STEAM curricular options and co-curricular activities; models design thinking; raises awareness of STEAM-based initiatives among students, teachers, parents and the wider community; and catalyzes innovative thinking among all stakeholders.

Candidates must be future-adaptive, interdisciplinary thinkers who can help create environments that maximize learning. They must have experience using current technologies, engineering, science, computer science, arts, or related educational fields. They should strive to be leaders with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and staff. They must be able to advance the school’s mission, vision, and strategic plan; to support student learning and achievement through collaborative effort and research-based educational leadership, teaching, and learning; and support and advance STEAM in the context of international education

A teacher at RNS is expected to contribute beyond the classroom as well, and the ideal candidate will be interested in involvements as a coach, advisor, and a boarding residence supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have a teaching degree in the area of Science. Further to this, experience with the IB programme and with independent schools would be a considerable asset.
