The Denver Waldorf School is hiring for an artistic, creative, innovative, and enthusiastic individual to teach part time at The Denver Waldorf School middle school. The lessons will involve the following:

  • Three 90 minute STEAM lessons (as defined below) a week (one in the 6th Grade, one in the 7th Grade, one in the 8th Grade)

  • Three 45 minute math lessons in the 6th Grade

STEAM/Maker lessons will involve providing hands-on building, tinkering, crafting activities that build off of the existing Waldorf curriculum. Topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Roman architecture

  • Magnetism

  • Electricity

  • Simple machines and mechanics

  • Metalwork

  • Leatherwork

  • Motors

  • Da Vinci and other Renaissance inspired projects

Coordinate all aspects of STEAM/Maker curriculum, materials and space, including researching and developing innovative activities that meet the developmental needs of the students in grades 6, 7, 8 of the Waldorf curriculum.

Knowledge and teaching experience with 6th grade math curriculum, including but not limited to; review of four processes/operations, fractions,decimals, percents, prime factoring, positive and negative integers, geometry.

Candidates ideally have experience and are passionate about working with young people and have a diverse experience of working with their hands. Experience working in a Waldorf school setting is ideal, interest in Waldorf education is a must.
