The STEAM Teacher and Middle and High School Ed-Tech Coordinator will develop and teach courses such as introductory technology, computer programming, engineering design, maker, and digital literacy skills as a critical component of the K-12 programming. This position collaborates with Middle and High School faculty to design and implement technology-rich lessons and projects in all disciplines that enhance students’ ability to collaborate, communicate, and create and support their development of higher order thinking skills.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Design and implement Middle and High School STEAM classes with a focus on technology concepts and operations,programming and computing, engineering design, making and digital literacy.
• Serve as a resource to Middle and High School faculty to support the development and implementation of technology-rich lessons and activities in all disciplines
• Define and develop the role of technology in the classroom with the academic administration as it promotes and supports the mission of the school and the preparation of our students for leadership in the 21st Century
• Through work with individual faculty members, ensure that students are engaging with technology appropriately according to existing scope and sequence
• Develop and revise of the technology scope and sequence
• Collaborate with the Lower School Ed-Tech Coordinator on all initiatives
• Model effective use of current and new instructional technology inside and outside the classroom for teachers and students
• Promote availability of professional development through One Schoolhouse, support students taking One Schoolhouse classes, communicate with parents of One Schoolhouse students, and serve as liaison to One Schoolhouse Academic Dean
• Work with Director of Technology, academic administrators, and LS Ed-Tech Coordinator to provide professional development on educational technology, including both informal (“lunch-and-learn”) and formal professional development
• With Director of Technology, represent and promote The IDEAL School at local and national ed-tech conferences, such as ISTE
• Assist the Director of Technology in providing tech support to faculty and staff, especially in the Middle and High Schools
