North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) seeks an innovative and forward-thinking candidate for the position of STEM Coordinator. Ideal candidates will have prior experience teaching STEM-related fields at a high level and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in math, science, or a STEM-related field. The successful candidate will fully support the mission of NYA, possess strong interpersonal skills, and embrace a collaborative work environment in a dynamic toddler to grade 12 school. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position, with other roles and responsibilities consistent with a faculty position.

Major responsibilities will include:

  • Teach the equivalent of two Upper School courses (programming and other STEM-related topics)

  • Teach “mini-courses” for lower and middle school students. This includes an introduction to programming in the Lower School and enrichment activities on STEM-related topics for middle school students.

  • Oversee the school’s innovation lab and support students with project-based work.

  • Serve as advisor to students pursuing a Diploma with Distinction in STEM.

  • Support club offerings such as robotics.

  • Provide leadership and support for faculty in integrating technology and STEM in the curriculum.
