Windsor School is a unique establishment, equipped with world-class facilities, located in Nassau, The Bahamas at Albany. We are crafting a forward-thinking educational experience and are looking for energetic and adventurous teachers, who genuinely want to make a difference. 

Windsor School is an innovative coeducational day and boarding school that is built around our elite Golf and Tennis Academies. Our 150 upper school students all take business classes in addition to typical US course load. On our Albany campus, we serve approximately 250 students in grades 6 – 12, from 37 countries, with a majority of our students local to the Bahamas; twenty percent of our student body have earned scholarships to attend. In addition to our established Athletic Academies, students can also choose to attend intensive Academy Programs in Marine Biology, Music, Equestrian, Rowing, and STEM that take advantage of our location and facilities. 

We are looking to employ an energetic, innovative, and inspiring STEM Fellow for August 2022 to join our distinctive community and help shape the new Albany STEM Academy. The successful candidate will be interested in helping shape this new, world-class program with state-of-the-art labs and fully-equipped workshops for making and engineering, and collaborative workspaces invite experimentation, creativity, and collaboration, inspiring students beyond the classroom.   Ideal candidates will have broad knowledge of and experience with high school science and math instruction and will be facile in the integration of technology in the classroom.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience. Minimum of three to five years teaching experience with knowledge and experience in STEM education. Master's or an Advanced degree in STEM-related field are preferred.  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Significant experience in programming, with an ability to share projects completed during the interview process.

 

In an effort to complement specific areas of the program, an individual with skills in the following are preferred:

 2D/3D design

Lean Manufacturing Equipment

3D digital design

Computer Aided Design programming experience

 

Predisposition to be proactive and a self-starter; comfort with ambiguity and ability to troubleshoot and to devise targeted, ad hoc solutions.

Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills which include both oral and written communication.
 

Willingness to collaborate with area universities and organizations on instructionally linked student activities and projects

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the STEM Fellow:

Creates an environment of curiosity, creativity, and innovation in learning for students between grades 6 - 12. 

Plans innovative and novel lessons in informal settings to assigned classes. Delivers STEM related instruction through project-based learning methods. 

Maintains an entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, initiative and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues and students. 

Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of STEM initiatives and curriculum. 

Organizes, develops, and coordinates STEM events/activities. Attends professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
