YULA Girls High School is expanding our STEAM Department and seeks an energetic, innovative educator to join our team. We are seeking a teacher who is a collaborative educator, excellent communicator, and has the ability to inspire students to be creative thinkers and learners.

Our STEAM Department incorporates a broad range of classes and disciplines, including Computer Science, Digital Arts, Fabrication, Electronics and Robotics. The ideal candidate will have high school teaching experience, a background in fabrication, engineering or computer science, familiarity with the maker movement, and a passion for student-centered, collaborative, and inquiry-based education.

In addition to classroom experience, the candidate should have experience working with innovative STEAM tools including, but are not limited to: Python, Tinkercad, Autodesk Fusion 360, Arduino, Adobe Illustrator, 3D Printers, FTC Robotics, CNC and Laser Cutting technologies.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deliver up to 5 daily STEAM classes for 9th-12th grade students.

Classes, depending on interest and enrollment may include sections of:

  • AP Computer Science Principles
  • Fabrication (3D Printing, CNC, Laser, etc)
  • Graphic Design (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
  • Electronics/Engineering (Arduino)
  • Python
  • Robotics
  • Work with teachers from other departments to integrate STEAM Projects school-wide
  • Coach and inspire our Robotics team, attend up to 6 annual Robotics meets on Sundays

Ideal candidates will have the following background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience in high-school setting
  • Successful use of technology to support instruction
  • Experience with Arduino, Python, Adobe and Autodesk Applications
  • Experience with school robotics programs (FTC, Rev, etc)
  • Experience with safe operation of makerspace tools and machines
