St. Anne’s Episcopal School seeks a spirited and talented STEM teacher who has experience teaching in grades 5-8. This person’s teaching responsibilities will include 5th and 6th grade science classes and possibly one section of math or computer science classes. The ability to coach basketball, baseball, cross country, soccer, or lacrosse would be especially welcomed.

Ideal candidates would have the following credentials and qualities:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree • Prior teaching experience in an Upper Elementary or Middle School classroom • Fundamental understanding of the developmental stages in the social, emotional, and academic lives of young adolescents • Knowledge of the best practices in curriculum instruction in science and a passion for the STEM related fields • Desire to build a student centered curriculum that includes relevant problem and project based learning practices • A growth and innovation mindset • Skills in technology instruction and integration across disciplines • The ability to embed effective writing expectations throughout the curriculum • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written • Comfort in leading daily homeroom devotions and participating in our weekly Chapel experiences where, in the Episcopal tradition,  all cultures and faiths are welcomed• Willingness to coach up to two seasons of athletics • Candidates who embrace experiences that celebrate diversity and service learning are encouraged to apply.
