Annunciation Orthodox School (AOS) seeks a detail-oriented, quality-focused, self-directed individual who loves continual learning for the position of Student Information System (SIS) Database Administrator. 

This individual will be responsible for the ongoing administration of our cloud-based Blackbaud Education Management System (the K12 “On” Products). This role is responsible for the software processes behind traditional Registrar functions such as scheduling, grades, and electronic student records as well as managing annual database procedures, fielding data requests from key employees, helping end users and more. This is a tremendous opportunity for someone with a "take ownership" personality to develop new and existing skills while working on one of our school’s key software packages.

12 Month Standard School Schedule

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary database administrator for the AOS Blackbaud Education Management System Database (K12 “On” Products).

  • Identify, suggest, and implement improvements to SIS data, processes, and functions. 

  • Manage annual database functions such as student promotion, rolling over courses, groups, and teams, enrollment of incoming families, etc.

  • Maintain and prepare master class schedules including implementation of any annual changes.

  • Maintain and format online report cards and transcripts.

  • Maintain, prepare, and deliver database queries, lists, reports, and spreadsheets. 

  • Field database usage questions from staff and teachers.

  • Field help with login or profile requests from students’ families. 

  • Perform additional tasks and projects related to the administration of our student information system. 

  • Keep abreast of current trends and best practices. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 

  • Prior responsibility for and experience with Student Information System software, enterprise-level administrative software, or other relevant software. 

  • Blackbaud Education Management System Database (K12 “On” Products) experience is preferred but not required. 

  • Demonstrated capacity and strong desire to learn new software, processes, and subject matter through online training, webinars, and self-directed study of vendor support resources.

  • Proficiency with standard office productivity software such as MS Office and/or G-Suite, especially spreadsheets. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

  • Ability to interact with users of all levels of technical ability. 

  • A team player with a positive outlook who is energetic and enthusiastic about working in an academic atmosphere.
