Job Description:
Springfield College seeks a Support Technician to work in the IT Technology Service Center (TSC) for a full-time position beginning immediately.

The Technology Service Center provides helpdesk and desktop support to the faculty, staff, and students who are in residence in Springfield, are at remote campuses or are online.

The Support Technician will join a staff of three, plus student workers, working at the help desk, responding to questions about accounts, computers, mobile devices, desktop software, peripheral equipment, and networking. The Technician will review the job ticket queue and assign it or address directly.

Position Type: Full Time Regular

Requirements:

  • This position requires an understanding of basic end-user desktop computing. Tasks include troubleshooting computers, imaging, desktop delivery, and support for peripherals such as printers, scanners, and projectors.

  • Excellent communications and troubleshooting skills are required, as is experienced with both Windows and Mac platforms.

  • The ability to work collaboratively but with minimal supervision, and to research solutions to novel situations, is required.

This position is a 40-hour/week, hourly position with occasional after-hours or weekend support required.
