EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Industrial Technology, System Administration, or related technical field. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a computer-related field. Preferably 2+ years experience in network and telecommunications systems and/or analysis experience as a LAN/WAN Support.
  • Able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and use a ladder for troubleshooting. 
  • On site position during school/ business hours

 

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Exhibits approachable demeanor and good communication skills when working with a variety of personnel including teachers, staff, students, and parents in a private school community.
  • Work closely under the direction of the IT Coordinator and alongside a collaborative team of tech educators to assist in development of ongoing tech planning for the Devon Prep campus.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset focused on solutions to tech problems in an expanding and innovating educational environment led by administration. 
  • Ability to organize and monitor work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple IT projects.
  • Research, Recommend, and Order tech equipment under the direction of the IT Coordinator.
  • Coordinate with tech consultants regarding equipment installation, network structure maintenance, etc. 
  • Maintain ongoing, accurate documentation of updates to equipment inventory, changes to network devices, and login access to necessary portals.
  • Practical knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory administration, and LAN/WAN networking, virtual desktop infrastructure, antivirus prevention and detections, firewall monitoring and configuration.

 

TECHNICAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage and respond to Tech Support Ticketing system to identify and prioritize tech-related issues throughout the campus including classrooms, support offices, and exterior of campus.
  • Perform routine updates, upgrades, and monitoring of network equipment and configure devices on network - servers, Watchguard firewall, Aruba & Watchguard AP units, printers, SHARP copiers, surveillance IP cameras, etc. throughout Devon Prep campus.
  • Support VMware VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure). Troubleshoot desktop / VMware with remote administration in emergency situations. 
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/VLANs - maintenance of database of users and computers accounts on Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2008 using Active Directory/Directory Services.
  • Perform installations and upgrades to Virtual Machines using VMware EXI, Hypervisor, 
  • Active Directory Admin - configuring user and computer accounts in adherence with organization guidelines with regard to ethical conduct and system protection.
  • Network Protection - Install and update antivirus software (ESET). Maintenance of Security operations through Watch-guard firewall, ESET Remote Administrator and Google Suite Operations. 
  • Perform Backup Maintenance - Domain Controller, Backup Domain Controller and Café servers on Barracuda Appliances. 
  • Device Management - deploy updates and manage checkout of tech equipment by teachers:
    • Apple Device Management - iMacs, MacBooks Pros and iPads - Mosyle, Apple School Manager, Apple Configurator, Mac OS Server
    • Lenovo Chromebooks - Google Admin
  • Retrieval of Surveillance Footage from IP cameras throughout the campus as need arises.
  • Support to IT Coordinator in administrative portals - Adobe Admin Suite, Microsoft 365, SMART Suite portal, Google Admin, and license distribution management, etc.
  • Assist in training and managing High School Student Tech Interns to assist in tech support tasks throughout the campus. 
  • Cross-platform experience (i.e. two or more: Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.) is desired.
