The Tatnall School, an independent school in Wilmington, Delaware, is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator for general campus-wide management and support of technology.

Tatnall’s environment includes Windows, MacOS, IOS and Chrome devices, network appliances, local servers and hosted services.  The technology team supports business and administrative offices, classrooms, operations and contractors.  You will be working primarily with faculty and staff while providing support to employees, students and visitors.  The position reports to the Director of Technology but you would be expected to take ownership of your own projects and successfully complete them without supervision.

The applicant should possess the following technical qualifications:

  • Experience with Mac and iOS management, deployment, troubleshooting and repair of Apple devices. Experience with APNs, ASM and JAMF is desirable.

  •  Experience with G-Suite including management of Chrome devices.

  • Solid knowledge and experience with Windows Server including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Hyper-V.

  • Understanding of networking and infrastructure including cabling, wireless, routing and network protocols.

  • Experience with hardware repair and safely working with electrical devices.

  • Experience with A/V deployment and maintenance including projectors, classroom audio systems, interactive displays and smart devices.  Experience with SMARTTech products is desirable.

  • Independent project management skills including documentation, timeline management and resource scoping.

  • Experience with audio / video editing, graphic design and web design are very helpful.

  • Comfort with presentation, documentation and instruction for an adult audience.

  • Experience with vendor management for product research, training and support.

  • Experience working with student information systems, preferably Blackbaud.

The applicant should possess the following interpersonal qualifications:

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities – you can diagnose an issue and completely and efficiently resolve it with minimal downtime or disruption to the user.

  • A personality that is likeable, polite, professional and trustworthy – There is a large customer service component to this role. You will be dealing with a wide variety of faculty, staff and student users, all of whom have different skill levels, preferences and ideal results. You need to provide excellent customer service with each interaction.

  • The ability to distill technical information into easily digestible portions for a user of any age or skill level.

  • Adaptability – It is very important for you to be able to pivot from one task to another, and manage multiple different types of projects at once. You are completely comfortable with doing a variety of different things on any given day. You are always open to learning new things and improving your skills.

  • Reliable – You should be depended upon to produce consistent results no matter the project.
