The Abraham Joshua Heschel School has an opening for a full-time System Administrator. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the System Administrator is responsible for managing aspects of network administration such as servers, desktop systems, laptops, network hardware/software, and technical support for faculty and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, manage, and inventory system level hardware and software installation and upgrades, including, but not limited to, servers, switches, servers, and wifi

  • Provide secure access to the network for remote users

  • Schedule upgrades, security checks, and backups of hardware and software systems

  • Safeguard assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery, backup procedures, and information security and control structures

  • Implement and maintain technical architecture

  • Identify, develop, and implement projects and initiatives

  • Establish, maintain, and manage users’ accounts and environments

  • Provide technical assistance and support to faculty and students related to software and network access, Active Directory in and out of a classroom setting

  • Work with Technology Department members to test and troubleshoot helpdesk requests

  • When necessary, provide support for after-hours and in-school community wide events that require technology support

  • This position will require working evenings and weekends when necessary.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work in a technology field. N+ and Security+ certifications are a plus

  • Experience with Macs, Active Directory, VMWare, Veeam, Meraki, JAMF Pro, G Suite for Education

  • Scripting, SQL, Senior Systems, and database management knowledge is a plus

  • Minimum of 3 years System Administration Experience. Experience working in a K-12 school is a plus.
