Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the Systems Administrator is responsible for providing friendly technical support to our users and making sure our IT infrastructure runs efficiently and smoothly.

This is a permanent, full time position. The typical work week is from Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and includes some after-hours support responsibilities. KCS offers an excellent compensation package upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front line technical support to students from grades one to eight, and staff.

  • Troubleshoot Windows 10, iOS, and Mac OS platforms.

  • Ensure that all IT policies are enforced when making any changes to the various information systems or giving actionable advice to users.

  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis according to our standards, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures according to our standards.

  • Perform monthly pro-active maintenance procedures and complete the appropriate reports.

  • Write or update IT documentation as required.

  • Monitoring various IT systems, analyzing data, and status reporting.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Systems Administrator role.

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 to 2019

  • Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems

  • Microsoft Office 2019

  • Microsoft Office 365

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory Connect Server

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • PowerShell scripting would be an asset

  • Experienced managing physical, and Wi-Fi networks (DHCP, DNS, TCP IP, authentication, encryption)

  • Experience managing a backup and disaster recovery solution

  • Firewall configuration experience

  • Workstation fleet management (Windows 10, Mac OS, and iOS) and deployment experience (Microsoft Deployment Tools would be an asset)

  • Support for MacOS and iOS (Apple School Manager knowledge is an asset)

  • Managing Google G-Suite

  • Cisco switch configuration

Other Qualifications

  • Patience and excellent customer service skills, welcoming and friendly demeanor is a must. Many helpdesk clients are young children.

  • Resourcefulness and great problem-solving skills
