Systems Administrator

LREI - Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School seeks a Systems Administrator to help manage and maintain the network and systems that support the school's growing technology infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, firewall, cloud-based and local servers, and data backup systems.

The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker with excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as an interest in educational technology.

Applicants should have a working knowledge of networking basics, firewalls, wireless networks, Windows and Linux server administration, directory services, basic scripting, and cloud-based services and solutions. Also important is familiarity with Apple hardware, OS, and iOS app ecosystems. Experience with printers, projectors, and A/V systems is a plus.

Working closely with the Director of Technology, the Systems Administrator supports and implements the philosophy, policies, and procedures of LREI's Technology Department. The Systems Administrator also collaborates with the school’s technology integrators in helping students and faculty use technology in the curriculum.

The primary responsibilities for the Systems Administrator include:
maintain the technological infrastructure of the school, including the wired and wireless networks, firewall, cloud-based and local servers, and manage the data backup systems.
build and deploy computer images and software packages for our cloud-based software update service.
create and maintain tech documentation for both users and the tech staff
provide technology and A/V support for faculty, staff and students
