Position Information

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Two years’ experience in computer operations, installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and related equipment. Experience using advanced features of tools such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Argos, and Cognos. Demonstrated experience in reporting and developing analytical reports. Demonstrated ability to document and process technology recommendations to improve operations. Ability to develop training materials. Experience supporting or working in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and self-learn new technologies.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with a higher education technology system and with providing technology support to staff. Knowledge of the following programming languages and tools. Microsoft Visual Studio, with advanced knowledge of Visual Basic, JavaScript and Microsoft SQL Server. The ability to research and implement new technologies. Ability to test and produce accurate results and communicate effectively with end users in a timely manner. Experience in higher education.

Additional Qualifications  
Position Purpose

Provide technical support to OU’s Macomb County locations in the area of troubleshooting, system changes, updates and upgrades. Maintain equipment inventory, installing, and decommissioning of equipment in accordance with university protocols and procedures. Develop and support Access Database Systems used for reporting including the creation of complex reports, databases, dashboards, infographics, data analytics, and other relevant technologies for forecasting, process improvement, and record management. Maintain processes for effective data management and data integrity. Collaborate effectively across departments to gather specifications, demonstrate new processes and train end users.
