St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Systems Specialist. The Systems Specialist assists the Technology Director in the planning and directing of activities related to computer systems network design, connectivity, implementation and support. Position reports to the Technology Director and is a 12 month, annual position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in Managing, Configuring, and Maintaining:

    • Network environment powered by Cisco appliances: LAN, WLAN, VoIP, ASA, Switches, Routers, WAPs 

    • Server environment, powered by: Physical and virtual servers, Local and cloud servers, VMWare, ESX hosts, Windows and Linux O/S, Dell  SAN, Google Infrastructure

    • Crossover systems and services affecting both environments: DHCP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, Syslog, Monitoring, Failover and redundancy, Disaster recovery, Data integrity and security

  • Assist in the creation and deployment of end-user machines and their respective images, including: Windows clients, powered by: Desktops, laptops, tablets, Windows Domain Controllers, servers and Apple clients, Apple laptops and desktops, iPads, (Jamf, Moyzle, MDT)

  • Provide support for Help Desk service

  • Project manage select IT infrastructure implementations and upgrades, as assigned by the Director of Technology

  • Collaborate with other members of the Technology Department to support the successful delivery of technology services throughout the school

Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree computer science, engineering, IT systems field or other relevant field. Minimum of three years of relevant work experience required, preferably in an educational setting. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills are required.
