Teacher, Media and Design

Contract Full-time (February 2020 to June 2021)

Grades 7 to 12

This role is responsible for teaching, participating in co-curriculars and clubs, serving as a student advisor and supervising the residential life community. Additional expectations include:

  • Possess a high level of understanding in curriculum area

  • Contribute in innovative ways to the goals of the school

  • Support and collaborate with faculty

  • Adapt to student learning styles

  • Inspire students inside and outside the classroom

  • Experience in media specific classroom teaching with a focus on Project Based Learning

  • An understanding and/or working practice with design thinking

  • Advanced knowledge in technology to enhance student learning i.e. Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite: PhotoShop, Illustrator, Animate, Premier and InDesign

  • Familiarity/experience with digital assets like Canon DSLR’s, green screen, lighting, A/V equipment and both Mac and PC based operating systems



  • Post-Secondary Education at the University level with relevant specialization

  • Teacher education training (B.Ed, M.Ed.) or significant teaching experience in another setting (i.e. University, College, or areas of specialized instruction)

  • Ontario College of Teachers certification (or equivalent)

  • Previous experience in related role an asset

  • Appropriate academic credentials illustrating a high level of knowledge and expertise in teaching discipline

  • Technical proficiency to assist and direct students who have a range of media skillsets and levels of expertise
