Information Technology Services (ITS) delivers IT services to the University under the leadership of the campus Chief Information Officer (CIO). Project Portfolio Management Office (PPMO) is responsible for the overall direction and management of project and program portfolios, optimization of investments and resources on projects, informing the strategic direction for campus-wide implementation, coordination, business analysis, systems analysis, value reporting, as well as delivery of agreed small, medium, and exceptionally large and complex IT projects.

Reporting to the PPMO Manager, the Technical Project Manager will manage multiple technical projects in support of campus-wide IT initiatives and work collaboratively on cross-functional teams to meet strategic objectives. IT project management occurs in services areas such as Educational, Research, Business, and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical projects having a defined beginning and end 

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor scope, requirements, schedules, budgets, resources, tasks, risks, staff and deliverables for information technology projects.

  • Organize and leads activities relating to the management and completion of projects.

  • Manage projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and / or project team size with considerable impact to the organization.

  • Apply advanced business process and analysis concepts and organizational objectives to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Apply skills as a seasoned, experienced technical project management professional with a full understanding of project management frameworks and methods

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Effective skill at tracking effort and project progress. Demonstrated highly advanced organization and project management skills. 
  • Proven strong conceptual and planning skills to analyze projects of broad and diverse scope. Understands the cost impact of projects, project tracking tools and metrics.
  • Proven ability to integrate critical information across disciplines. Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated skills needed to develop process and system implementation plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
