Bullis seeks a Technical Resource Specialist to begin work in June 2016. The Technical Resource Specialist provides help desk, installation, and audio/visual support. Duties include being the primary support at the help desk, managing the help desk system to make sure that support tickets are distributed to the appropriate personnel, and maintaining the technology inventory (check-outs and check-ins).

Principal responsibilities: 

  • Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on all desktop and laptop and tablet assets
  • Develops and maintains a working relationship with operational and instructional staff and educates end users in using technology
  • Monitors and inventories school resources, which fall under the umbrella of the department
  • Installs and maintains various audio/visual resources in the school classrooms, computer labs and conferencing areas
  • Provides audio/visual support for campus events
  • Assists Systems Manager with inventories and records of the school software purchases and licensing keys
  • Stays current with new software and hardware offerings
  • Seeks out further education by attending seminar’s classroom-online education and trade materials
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Technology

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Apple OSX operating systems
  • A demonstrated ability to implement, create and install all manner of network cabling including COAX, UTP, CAT5, Fiber and use of the associated tools to diagnose and troubleshoot said network cabling and installations
  • A working knowledge of Imaging systems (Ghost/Altiris Deployment Solution)
  • Effective communication skills as well as have the capacity to efficiently manage multiple small and large tasks
  • Experience with Audio Visual technologies
  • Knowledgeable of wireless infrastructures and wireless networking
  • Experience in independent schools a plus

A high school diploma or equivalent is required with a bachelor’s in information technology or a related field preferred.
