The Elisabeth Morrow School seeks a professional to join our technology department and lead our in-house support that is provided to all constituent groups. This person will join an established, supportive and fun technology team. This is a 12-month full-time position, reporting to the Director of Technology and starting July 1, 2019. 

The Technology Support Administrator is responsible for managing a wide array of hardware and software systems, including laptops, workstations, peripherals, and iOS devices. Knowledge of Google Apps and GSuite are essential. The applicant must have knowledge of computer hardware and software. Excellent customer service, organizational and analytical skills are required. Experience working with children is desirable. It is essential for applicants to communicate effectively and listen perceptively to teachers, students, administrators, team members, and families.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and a desire to improve our processes. 

Interest in working with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts and Math) initiatives is desirable.

Position Description
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Overall

  • Install, configure and test most technology used in our school; coordinate and assist network company with networking equipment

  • Support technology needs of all constituents such that the school has smooth, accessible use of all technology tools and systems

  • Supervise part-time technology support specialist

  • Train or help with training constituents on various technology tools and systems

  • Set up user accounts and help organize tracking of such accounts and systems they are used in

  • Coordinate with maintenance team for installations of new equipment

  • Work eight-hour day starting at 7:30 or 8 with availability for remote support occasionally; evening support on campus may be required infrequently

  • Work closely with the Director of Technology in evaluating, implementing and supporting initiatives

System and Network Management

  • Manage the school’s tech-related systems, working with an outside network company and consultants, including:

    • Administration of the helpdesk ticket system to track and manage user support requests

    • JAMF Pro MDM to set up, manage and update Macbooks, iMacs, and iPads

    • User accounts

    • Wireless and wired network set up

    • Cloud-based systems

    • On-site servers as needed

Equipment Maintenance

  • Setup, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair IT equipment. This includes desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, monitors, IP telephones and A/V systems (audio racks, microphones, projectors, video sources, speakers)

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of assets and supplies

  • Routine computer maintenance tasks

  • Coordinate use of repair companies

End User Support

  • Respond to all users’ needs in a timely fashion and escalate more involved situations for consideration with Director of Technology

  • Coordinating all support needs along with our part-time technical support specialist

  • First-level support for our Middle School Bring Your Own Laptop program

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree

  • High proficiency with technology systems including MS Office, Google Apps, various educational software, and SIS/LMS experience

  • Comfortable with ad hoc troubleshooting and finding resources to learn new skills as needed

  • Strong orientation to customer service

  • Strong written and oral communication, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills
