Description

The Technology and AV Support Specialist (Specialist) prioritizes, resolves, and responds to all audio-visual (AV) and other technology support requests from students, faculty, and staff. The Specialist is the primary point of contact for AV and sound needs for all events and performances providing technical support, maintenance, and lifecycle management for AV and sound equipment. This individual works closely with faculty on performing arts events and in collaboration with other members of the technology team on technology initiatives and support. This is a full-time, non-exempt position and is eligible for benefits. The position reports to the Director of Innovation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing primary support for Technology Department Service Desk ensuring the timely response and resolution of requests

  • Assisting with scheduling and planning of all AV needs for school events

  • Providing morning, evening, and weekend technology and AV support for all school events

  • Recording and livestreaming all required events and performances

  • Setting up, supporting, and conducting inventory of classroom and AV technologies

  • Creating and delivering in person training sessions on a variety of computer and AV technologies

  • Creating reports, technical documentation, and detailed instructional documentation

  • Providing support for all mobile devices and laptop computers

  • Administering Zoom video, phone services, and handsets

  • Maintaining supplies for computer carts, printers, and general technology items

  • Supporting and scheduling the IT onboarding/offboarding process and school-year rollover tasks

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree or relevant experience

  • At least three-years experience in a related technology and AV support position

  • Experience using and/or supporting the following software and equipment, or a proven ability to learn:

    • Livestreaming equipment and services

    • HD Cameras and recording equipment

    • Theater sound and lighting equipment

    • Professional microphones and audio setup for events

    • Soundboard setup and support

    • Projectors and other AV equipment

    • Interactive whiteboards and smartboard technologies

  • Experience supporting network and computer technologies

  • Understanding of IT Security principles and best practices

  • Experience conducting user and group technical training

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong time management, change management, and individual project management skills

  • A demonstrated aptitude for technology and an eagerness to learn and help others
