REQUIREMENTS

The Support Specialist will support two departments.  They will work closely with Technology Director and Communications Director in supporting systems in each area. In Technology, the Support Specialist will be the primary helpdesk respondent, coordinating with three other members of the high school technology department. In Communications, the Support Specialist will provide support to administrative staff in the setup and management of the school’s learning management system (LMS) and student information system (SIS).

Support Specialist must be experienced in Macintosh operating system navigation, maintenance and troubleshooting. S/he should have a background in providing helpdesk support and interfacing with system users. S/he must have experience working with and maintaining databases, preferably experience with student information and learning management systems. 

Preferably, the Support Specialist candidate would have experience working in educational settings. Teaching experience or working with students is also a plus.

Support Specialist Technology Responsibilities (.5)

  • Helpdesk - maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing hardware, I/O peripherals, interactive whiteboards (SMART brand), and software,
  • device sign out and delivery
  • laptop loan setup and maintenance
  • providing emergency support for general technology operations, school-wide (shared with department)
  • Macintosh and iPad setup and maintenance

Communications Systems Responsibilities (.5)

  • share LMS/SIS helpdesk responsibilities for Faculty (JK-12) as needed
  • assist students (9-12) as needed to troubleshoot LMS issues
  • support LMS/SIS management and annual setup (schedules, report cards, course requests, etc)
  • interface with vendor support as needed to troubleshoot system problems
  • assist with annual maintenance of Google Apps for Education accounts (Faculty and students)
