Primary Purpose:
Provide technology service and support for District personnel and students

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Driver's license

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of technology hardware and peripherals
  • Knowledge of technology software operating systems and applications
  • Knowledge of network equipment, cabling and connections
  • Knowledge of telephone equipment, cabling and connections
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)
  • Ability to work independently and with others

Experience: Three years of experience preferred

  • Using, troubleshooting, and repairing a broad range of technologies, including, but not limited to, hardware, peripherals, software systems and applications, network cabling and fiber, and telephones                                   

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Moves, installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs technology hardware, peripherals, and computer systems
  • Installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs computer operating system software and client software
  • Moves, installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs network equipment, cables and connections
  • Moves, installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs telephone equipment, cables and connections
  • Moves, assembles, installs, and repairs school furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, projection screens, white boards, etc., as needed for completion of technology projects
  • Provides preventative maintenance on existing technology, such as cleaning filters on projectors, etc.
  • Utilizes online resources and telephone support for technical information, troubleshooting and repairs
  • Utilizes the current online work order system to complete assignments
  • Performs general maintenance/grounds work on an emergency needs basis including, but not limited to, changing AC filters and light bulbs
