Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Technology Business Management Analyst for the Office of Information Technology.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:  
• Processes large quantities of diverse data relevant to maintaining IT operations in a large enterprise. 
• Analyzes data, and prepares and facilitates coherent reporting relative to understanding of operational goals and direction for the Office of Information Technology. 
• Assists organizational units in the ongoing preparation of operational data, reinforcing business processes for sustaining material necessary to provide accurate reporting. 
• Works under the supervision of OIT management focusing on technology business management practices and strategies. 
• Performs professional work with good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied bases of accounting, as well as, statistical measures and IT operational practices.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of IT operations and management practices, including activities centered on data centers, network and communications infrastructure, server and storage technologies, and application development. 
• Two years of relevant experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A good understanding of accounting concepts, principles, practices, as well as, statistical measures
• Demonstrated advanced analytical skills with large datasets
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work effectively with multiple levels of management and staff throughout the organization. 
• Advanced computer skillsets, including skills in data transformation and formulaic logic utilizing Excel or relevant programming languages

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Technology Business Management (TBM) principles and practices
• Work experience in higher education
• Practical work experience with various computer platforms and programming environments, including Unix, shell scripts, PERL and SQL
