Léman Manhattan Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Technology & Computer Science Teacher for the 2017/18 School Year!

Technology is an essential part of a student’s life at Léman Manhattan Preparatory School and is integrated throughout the standards-based curriculum to support students’ path to digital responsibility and global citizenship in the 21st century. This position includes teaching computer science and digital learning technology courses to our middle and high school students.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach existing and develop new curriculum and standards related to computer science and digital learning, with a view towards introducing IB Computer Science course to Léman Manhattan.
  • Serve as an advisor.
  • Perform other duties required of full-time faculty members (meeting attendance, duties, etc.).

  • the expertise to provide input regarding school-wide and division-wide technology initiatives, policies, and pilot programs.
  • a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, in a technology related field.
  • a minimum of 5 years teaching experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with: iOS, OSX, Windows platforms; Google Apps for Education; Microsoft 365, One Note, Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Suite
  • Computer hardware and networking
  • Essential programming skills and knowledge: Swift, Python, basic SQL; HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL; and Java (required for a future IB Computer Science course)
  • Robotics and Electronics programming such as: Scratch, LEGO Mindstorms, Arduino, Raspberry Pi
  • App Development using MIT App Inventor or other software
  • Digital Animation, Game Design, Motion Graphic, Modeling and Fabrication Technology, Makerspaces using: AutoCAD, Maya, Flash, Stop Motion Graphics, 3D Technology or similar software
  • Additional Software knowledge: iMovie, Garageband, or similar
  • Have taught, or have familiarity in the IB Computer Science subject matter
