St. George Episcopal School in San Antonio, Texas (www.saintgeorgeschool.org) serves approximately 500 students in grades preK through 8th.  As we seek to prepare students for success in the 21st century, SGES is seeking a tech-savvy self-starter to lead and manage our academic technology and design program.   A successful candidate will:

  • exhibit a contagious passion for creating and learning with technology in the classroom
  • help teachers integrate technology into their classes by teaching necessary skills and also facilitating and co-teaching classes
  • have experience with a wide range of technologies and tools
  • have a high comfort level with trying new things
  • develop and lead lower/middle school technology courses and after school enrichment clubs
  • be a resource for students as they work on independent or group work
  • have a desire to be a part of the school family beyond assigned classes and school day responsibilities
  • have both a good sense of humor and patience when working with others

 Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in a related field, and/or relevant experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent classroom management skills and strategies
  • An understanding of and experience with educational technology skills, resources, and projects, including Google for Education, robotics, coding, and design.
  • Computer and network management understanding and abilities.

 The Technology Coordinator will:

  • Report to Head of School and Division Directors
  • Collaborate with administration and faculty to adopt an integrated technology and design program for the elementary and middle school programs
  • Assist and support classroom teachers with the integration of technology into the classroom
  • Teach a part time course load for upper elementary and/or middle school students
  • Manage data network and school technology integration
  • Implement network management tools to ensure optimum functionality
  • Maintain and enforce the appropriate use of technology agreement
  • Prepare and maintain technology budget in collaboration with administration
  • Implement a fair, consistent, and respectful classroom management model
