We are looking for someone who is collaborative, flexible, and loves learning and doing alongside middle school girls and gender nonconforming students. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader to help lead SGS’ technology initiatives, while also diving into the nitty gritty to roll up their sleeves to solve challenges as they arise. In addition to providing individualized support, this position will also be involved with planning and delivering technology-driven professional development to larger groups of faculty and staff throughout the year. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to help, love of learning, feels a pull to be in a classroom/school environment, is a team player, and has the curiosity to dive in to solve any problem.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate technology initiatives and provide day-to-day support for all technology systems (hardware, software, etc) at SGS, including G Suite, BigSIS, Aruba networking, Lenovo laptops, and more.

  • Train faculty, staff, students, and parents/guardians in how to use relevant technologies for their role(s).

  • Be an advocate for best practices of using technology in an organization.

  • Build and maintain workflows, documentation, policies, and procedures related to technology operations.

  • Manage technology operating budget.

  • Provide after-hours event support as needed.

  • Work in partnership with the Academic Technology Coach (faculty member) to provide instructional support for teachers.

  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Customer-service orientation.

  • Strong “figure-it-out” ability.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to take initiative to define and pursue one’s own professional development.

  • Keen attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Desire to work in a learning institution amidst middle-school girls and gender nonconforming students. Experience in schools, non-profits, or other learning environments is a plus.

  • Social-justice experience and desire to help the school achieve its mission of developing leadership in our students particularly in the area of using technology.

  • Demonstrated thought leadership in technology and process improvement, and aware of current trends in technology.

  • Ability to generalize and specialize with a variety of technologies - from learning management systems to school information systems to laptops, phones, printers, and wifi.

  • Anticipate needs before they arise with a proactive eye toward making systems more reliable, productive, efficient, and secure for the school.

  • Positive, can-do attitude, and calm under pressure.

  • Skillful in maintaining positive and productive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.

  • Demonstrates a warm, approachable, and welcoming demeanor. Diplomatic and patient.

  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
