Job Description

Stony Brook Global, a new online program within The Stony Brook School, is seeking a Technology Coordinator to lead its technology efforts. As the sole technology officer in the startup phase of SBG’s development, the Technology Coordinator will need to possess skills and experience in educational software implementation, faculty and staff training, software development, tech support for students, and help build out the program for our Ethical Tech Academy. As enrollment grows, so too will the leadership responsibilities of the Technology Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum and at least three years industry experience

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong work ethic, high energy, positive attitude, flexibility, and eagerness to solve problems as they arise

  • Ability to create and evaluate engaging educational software for teenagers

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to respond quickly to all communications 

  • Eagerness to serve in a faith-based work environment that emphasizes faithful Christian scholarship and character formation. Passion for SBG’s mission is critically important for all positions.

  • High proficiency with a broad range of software and hardware

  • Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and train faculty and students on Stony Brook Global’s LMS and on the educational software we use, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud, Formative, VoiceThread, FlipGrid, Turnitin, and Quizlet and advise the Academic administrators on new technologies

  • Contribute to the development of the school’s character formation app for the web and major global smartphone software platforms

  • Provide timely and helpful technical support to faculty and students

  • Assist the Academic administrators in building out the program for the Ethical Tech Academy

  • Work with the Director of Technology on projects that impact the whole institution

  • Support the Multimedia Producer on projects requiring technological expertise

  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
