St. James' enrolls 360 students in Preschool through Grade Six. Along with strong training in core academics, the School offers enrichment through classes in the arts, in the sciences, in religion, in Spanish, in library, and in physical education.

Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree or relevant coursework.
• Strong competency using software applications and programs
• Must be knowledgeable and comfortable using academic technology
• Must be reliable and considerate of other colleagues.
• Must have a sincere interest in working in support of children.
• Sound understanding of developmental characteristics of and affection for students Preschool through Grade 6.
• Experience working with elementary-age children.
• A high energy level and a courteous, outgoing disposition.

The primary responsibilities of the Technology/Media Center Assistant will be to assist two areas with the school’s academic program: Technology and Fourth Grade. This person will work closely with three supervisors and must be able to tend to multiple priorities in an efficient and professional manner:

• Supervise and help children during Technology and Fourth Grade classes
• Assist Technology Specialist to deliver technology into the classrooms

• Help to maintain the Computer Lab and Library’s appearance and cleanliness

• Assist with classroom management in both fourth grade classes

• Update the Technology and fourth grade websites with student projects; display student work in the Computer Lab and Fourth Grade classrooms

• Assist with Tech Support around campus as needed and as available

• Assist teachers in implementing and learning new computer programs for students

• Assist in student/parent and teacher technology education

The Media Assistant is supervised by the Technology Teacher and two Fourth Grade Teachers and may perform such additional duties assigned from time to time by the Head of School.

This position is Monday-Friday and is scheduled to begin August 2015. Compensation is competitive with a full benefits package, to include full health, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as a generous 403(b) retirement plan.
