Salary: starting at $54,195.00 / Per Year

Primary Purpose:

Facilitate the effective use of mobile devices, computers and other technology in instructional programs district wide. Assist in the development of short and long-range plans for the integration of technology into the instructional program. Implement and coordinate technology staff development and training program.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree

Valid Texas teaching certificate

        Secondary Specialist – prefer core teacher certification

        Elementary Specialist – prefer generalist or core certification

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Expertise in the integration of technology into teaching and learning

Expertise in the Technology Application TEKS

Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners

Knowledge of  e-backpack

Knowledge of  iTunes U

Knowledge of MDM Systems

Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications

Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional setting

Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

Two years of mobile device integration preferred

Two years of mobile device curriculum development preferred

Three years teaching experience minimum in education

Three years experience working with computer hardware and instructional software applications

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Mobile Instruction

  1. Requires a focus on the mobile devices in the district (iPads) delivery of conetnt, lesson integration, and to better promote the use of mobile devices in the classroom.

Staff Development

  1. Provide leadership and technical expertise to principals and teachers in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of effective instructional technology throughout the district.
  2. Coordinate the development and implementation of a comprehensive staff development plan for the use of instructional technology.
  3. Provide staff development to teachers and administrators in methods of involving technology in the delivery of curriculum including use of hardware and software applications.
  4. Analyze and evaluate the implementation of technology integration at the classroom, campus and district level.

Curriculum Development

  1. Model and co-teach technology based lessons on computer literacy and integration.
  2. Share effective technical and instructional strategies with teachers for the effective use of technology in the classroom, including planning, classroom management, and assessment.
  3. Coordinate the writing of curriculum for technology programs and monitor the instructional process in all content areas using technology.
  4. Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments in technology education at the state and national level.
  5. Develop and implement a continuing evaluation of the instructional technology program and implement changes based on the findings.
  6. Design individual instructional modules, instructional materials, and training aides.
  7. Assist in integrating technology in the existing instructional curriculum.
  8. Meet with grade level teams to assist in the creation of integration lessons/projects
  9. Showcase “promising practices” or excellent lesson activities on the district (or Cyber Connection) web page for others to access.
  10. Act as a liaison with district technology department personnel.

Budget and Inventory

  1. Assist in budgeting and monitoring campus technology expenditures.
  2. Assist in monitoring purchase and legal use of software at the campus level.
  3. Assist with the organization and distribution of technology materials for classroom use.
  4. Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware, software, and computer lab materials at assigned campuses.

Policy, Reports, and Law

  1. Assist in the development of policies and procedures regarding technology issues.
  2. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
  3. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of instructional technology.
