Ross School is seeking a dynamic Technology, Design, and Engineering Teacher for the 2016–2017 school year to join the Innovation Lab @Ross, an academy for advanced students in science, mathematics, engineering, media, and technology. The Technology, Design, and Engineering Teacher will work in close cooperation with the Director of Innovation Lab @Ross and the Dean of Science to develop and teach courses and lead activities and other programs in these areas that provide advanced students with opportunities to pursue their studies and research projects in the classroom, in the lab, and in the field. The goal of this aspect of the Innovation Lab program is to provide sophisticated instruction and experiential learning in areas such as design techniques and strategies, programming languages, coding, applications or mathematics, data visualization, complex systems modeling, problem solving, and entrepreneurial solutions and outcomes.   

Interested candidates must be able to develop and teach courses that include but are not limited to programming courses using C/C++, Java, Python and/or other modern programming languages; and robotics and/or microcontroller programming courses based on Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar microcontroller platforms. In addition, the Technology, Design, and Engineering Teacher must be able to teach from an integrated perspective that involves the study of other disciplines, including the history of science.

Responsibilities also include curriculum development and documentation, documentation of student progress, and the ability to interface with researchers in the field. Candidates must have a master’s degree and a minimum of 5 years teaching/research experience in high school and/or university settings.
