JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

Minimum Education/Certification:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Eligible for coverage under the District’s vehicle insurance program
  •  

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
  • Experience in teaching and integrating technology within the curriculum
  • Knowledge of technologies available for use in the instructional setting
  • Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners
  • Ability to coach other trainers on improving training designed for adult learners
  • Analytical and problem solving technology skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with an online Learning Management System

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Primary Purpose: Primarily responsible for professional development and technology initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Major Responsibilities and Duties

 

Technology and Program Management

 

  1. Facilitate the effective use of technology in instructional and administrative programs district wide.
  2. Assist in the development of short- and long-range plans for the integration of technology into instruction and administration.
  3. Plan and provide for professional development related to instructional and administrative applications.
  4. Plan and support the implementation of district-wide technology initiatives.
  5. Support the implementation of instructional programs.
  6. Communicate with various hardware and software vendors to resolve issues.
  7. Produce multimedia professional development using the iCafe Studio and other tools.
  8. Research developments in educational technology and evaluate and make recommendations for district adoption.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of records and data according to all applicable policies.

Learning Management System

 

  1. Coordinate the on-going professional development of staff involved in the use of the district Learning Management System.
  2. Support the implementation of new functionality of the Learning Management System.
  3. Provide on-going technical support for Learning Management System users.
  4.  

 

Other

 

  1. Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in educational technology.
  2. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum Experience:

 

  • Three years of teaching experience
  • Two years of professional development experience preferred
  •  

OTHER INFORMATION:   Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Lifting and moving of heavy equipment; stooping, bending, and kneeling. Frequent district-wide travel and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours (work on-call and after hours).
