Position Description

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Technology Development Specialist. The Technology Development Specialist will have a major role in the configuration, maintenance, and security of the information technology infrastructure, networks, servers, computer hardware and software, and all technology equipment associated with the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center and Regional Training sites throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
The Technology Development Specialist will be the project lead responsible for the development, configuration, maintenance, security, and support for the Resource Center’s server and desktop deployment solutions using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), for managed distribution.
The Technology Development Specialist will assist with server and network administration tasks. Tasks requiring system downtime must be executed during approved change management windows after standard business hours.
The Technology Development Specialist functions as a team member for the Technology Development Department of the Resource Center.
The Technology Development Specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical assistance to the Resource Center through the daily operation of the Resource Center and Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) helpdesks and technology equipment setup, monitoring, and maintenance tasks for onsite meeting and training rooms including audio and video systems.

Minimum of 2 years experience preferred in the following: technology helpdesk support, hardware and software configuration and maintenance, Microsoft operating systems, and productivity software.
Familiarity with SCCM, MDT, WSUS, SharePoint, Skype, and WebEx is preferred.
Must have excellent skills in facilitating interaction/communications of the Resource Center/University with numerous other large organizations, including universities, counties, and state government. Tasks are complex with some standardization.

PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.

Education Required Baccalaureate
Minimum Related Experience Level Required 3-5 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Science, or closely related field required. Excellent interpersonal, writing, collaboration, leadership, communication, organizational, and computer skills required. Must have competency in Management Information Systems Development.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and collaboration skills, experience in a Windows environment, and excellent attention to detail are required.
Note: This position is located in Mechanicsburg, PA. Must be able to travel distances.
Must work occasionally during change management windows after standard business hours and on weekends/holidays.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
