Teaching Responsibilities

At Saint Joseph’s Episcopal School, we believe that quality educators set high standards for students—and then do everything they can to help them reach (or even surpass) those standards. We are looking for teachers who will help our students become self-directed, independent learners.

The ideal candidate will be able to incorporate several styles of teaching and use a variety of approaches to present the curriculum and assess the students. This person must have a desire to work with students of all ages (from our three-year-old PK students to our Middle School teenagers), as well as possess strong interpersonal and written communications skills.

Qualified candidates should demonstrate a passion for STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/ Mathematics) instruction, an intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, the ability to work within a team, skills to engage and inspire students in the pursuit of learning, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

The Technology Instructor will be responsible for teaching students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. He/She will also collaborate with classroom teachers for assistance/guidance to integrate technology into or with their respective curricula.

General Professional Qualifications

The most desirable candidates will have the following background or comparable experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Computer Science, and/or Engineering;

  • Experience teaching in a rigorous academic program;

  • Familiarity integrating various forms of technology into the curriculum;

  • A willingness to create a student-centered classroom;

  • Enthusiasm to work as part of a team; and,

  • Motivation to collaborate with colleagues on advancing strategic initiatives.
