Overview

The technology integration coordinator is responsible facilitating the effective integration of technology into the curriculum. Provide technical instruction to faculty members in support of our laptop program, multi-media, computer hardware and software, social networking, school web-portals and associated peripheral devices. Advise technology director on educational technology trends, progress, and initiatives. Provide training on emerging educational technologies.

Essential Functions

 

  • Guide faculty to integrate technology into their curriculum
  • Train faculty and staff to use both software and hardware in addition to other technologies
  • Maintain online faculty training support and develop training materials
  • Create and document key processes, techniques, and procedures related to the instructional technology program
  • Assist faculty in evaluating and purchasing software to be used in the curriculum
  • Monitor the use of instructional technology to ensure that resources and activities enhance academic content and the school’s mission
  • Effectively communicate technology ideas and best practices to all faculty and staff
  • Providing technology support for faculty and students
  • Other tasks as assigned by the technology director

 

Qualifications

 

  • Strong background in both PC and Macintosh computers, hardware, and software, and other technologies (digital cameras, scanners, interactive boards, etc.)
  • Background in classroom teaching is a must; Montessori trained desired
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people, from beginners to experienced technology users and operate within multiple environments and operating systems
  • Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of Montessori and IB principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter and independent worker, reliable and energetic
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology or related field

 

Physical requirements and work environment

 

  • Frequently lift up to 20 lbs. of computer equipment
  • Possibly crawl under or around furniture to install computer equipment
  • Works in standard office and classroom conditions and climates
  • Requires travel efficiently between school sites
