Atlanta Jewish Academy is a college preparatory, co-educational, preschool-12th grade, independent Jewish Day School, guided by modern orthodox values and principles. AJA is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) to promote the thoughtful use of technology in the classroom, manage professional development on instructional technology, and advance the school’s technological vision.

The Technology Integration Specialist will assist in developing curriculum and projects that integrate technology. Also, he/she will collaborate with the appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage, and optimize the use of instructional software and network resources to support quality teaching and learning.

Essential Job Functions
Manages professional development in all areas of technology integration
Manages technology plan and monitors progress
Acts as team leader for tech support staff and media staff
Oversees implementation of the technology curriculum and outlines a scope and sequence of technology and research skills (e.g. avoiding plagiarism, narrowing search parameters, identifying credible sources, etc.)
Collaborates with Curriculum Coordinator and teachers to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology
Models the classroom use and integration of technology in all curriculum areas
Researches and disseminates information on best practices for technology integration, technological trends, and applications related to technology use in the school program
Provides guidance on copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all technology resources (e.g. acceptable use, digital citizenship, internet safety, cyber bullying, etc.)
Collaborates to manage technology budget for supplies and materials
Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain valid, current personal knowledge in the areas of IT development and teaching methods
Reports to Curriculum Coordinator; prepares and submits accurate reports as required
Carries out non-instructional duties as assigned and/or as needed (e.g. Tech Fair)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to manage professional development on instructional technology
Considerable knowledge of 1:1 student use of technology
Considerable knowledge of the current literature, trends and developments in the field of K-12 instructional technology integration (e.g. 21st century skills, learning commons model, etc.)

Ability to develop long term goals and objectives, evaluate the effectiveness of programs, and make recommendations for improvements
Ability to review and advise budgets
Ability to maintain complete and accurate records, collect data, and develop meaningful reports
Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments
Considerable knowledge of Google, GAFE, Adobe, Chromebooks, Moodle

Qualifications and Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience in working with students and educational staff in the field of educational technology
Experience managing professional development
Experience developing curriculum
Experience developing technology integration plans
Experience with project management
