Position Description:
The Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle (JDS), a growing Early Childhood through 8th Grade inquiry-based independent school, is currently accepting applications for a part-time Technology Integration Specialist. The school’s mission is to provide an exceptional education that empowers children to be confident, wise, and compassionate upstanders who are committed to life-long learning and community stewardship.
JDS faculty members are part of a collaborative team of self-reflective, creative, and passionate educators focused on developing the "whole child", nurturing individual identity, imagination and inquiring minds. The successful candidate should love working with elementary and middle School students as well as faculty. The Technology Integration Specialist collaborates with teachers to plan and teach technology skills, supports teachers to enhance learning in the classroom through the use of technology, and educates the faculty of JDS in current and effective technology skills and practices. All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the school’s mission, values and philosophy.

Reports to: Assistant Head of School

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan and assess technology curriculum in collaboration with teachers and education administration
• Plan curriculum and maintain Scope and Sequence to meet and surpass ISTE standards, and current trends in technology education
• Lead, or collaborate with faculty on, the teaching of integrated technology curriculum and skills to Junior Kindergarten through 8th Grade students
• Provide professional development to faculty and staff and provide access to tools and resources for self-paced learning
• Provide regular communication of technology at JDS to families, and promote technology at JDS to students, families and staff
• Actively seek professional learning and current trends in educational technology
• Research and manage technology tools in collaboration with other staff
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience teaching technology or STEM in elementary or middle school
• Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team of highly motivated, enthusiastic teachers
• Committed to on-going professional growth and development
• Flexible, passionate, creative, dedicated and collaborative
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current teaching certificate preferred
• Degree in technology or a related field
• Experience in providing professional development to faculty
