Technology Integration Specialist: Computer Science Coordinator
St. John’s is a Pre-K - 8th grade school with a focus on providing a modern education through our 1:1 iPad program, Imagine. The role of the Technology Integration Specialist: Computer Science Coordinator will be to grow upon this program, providing PK-8 technology integration with a focus on the development and implementation of a cohesive computer science program.
Expectations:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a technology coach and mentor to faculty and students as part of our ongoing Imagine one-to-one program
- Collaborate with teachers and peers to develop a plan for meaningful integration of computer science components into existing PK-8 curriculum (e.g. coding, robotics, circuits)
- Research evolving best practices and participate in ongoing professional development related to the integration of academic technology and PK-8 computer science education
- Play an active role in the design, development, and day-to-day management of a Maker Lab
- Work with teachers to integrate technology into learning opportunities that emphasize critical thinking and problem solving, including design thinking and Making
- Teach Middle School Computer Science / STEAM electives
- Assist the Technology Department in planning, budgeting, and acquiring new purchases
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate with teachers of various backgrounds to successfully integrate meaningful technology and computer science components into existing curriculum. Qualifications include:
- Experience with academic technology integration, computer science, and maker spaces
- Strong knowledge of Windows and iOS platforms; Office 365 a plus
- Strong knowledge of programming languages applicable to various age levels
- An approachable and flexible persona with excellent people and communication skills
- A collaborative and innovative approach to teaching, coaching and learning; PBL experience a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree, teaching certifications; equivalent experience in a similar role a plus
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- The ability to lift at least 30 pounds
- The ability to, at times, work standing, lifting and kneeling for extended periods

The Church and School are located in a park-like setting on 10 acres in East Dallas. The School building is a spacious, up-to-date facility with décor that is colorful and inviting to children.
