Technology/Discovery Center Program
The goal of Gateway School’s Technology/Discovery Center program is to facilitate a learning community that includes technology integration, STEAM, design thinking, innovation, and creativity through the Discovery Center.

The Technology Integration Specialist is primarily a teaching position focused on immersing students in problem solving, design thinking, and hands-on creating in our Discovery Center. The instructor will work with students to develop their understanding and use of technology while learning to be responsible digital citizens; with faculty, inside and outside of the classroom, to support them in technology integration in their curriculum development; and with parents to provide information and resources to educate them in the developmentally appropriate use of technology. We are looking for an extraordinary teacher of children and adults alike, with a passion for discovery through technology and making. The ideal candidate will have the drive and initiative to take this innovative program to the next level.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teach K-8 classes in designing and making, digital citizenship, and information literacy.
2. Collaborate with faculty to implement technology in support of core classroom curriculum, with an emphasis on STEAM initiatives.
3. Provide professional development for faculty and staff.
4. Provide guidance and resources to parents and the larger school community around the developmentally-appropriate use of technology.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
● Bachelor's Degree.
● Successful classroom teaching experience.
● Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the community, including students, faculty, staff, and parents.
● Excellent organizational skills.
● Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
● Experience integrating technology into subject area curricula.
● Solid understanding of the needs of adult learners.
● Leadership and facilitation skills, including the ability to run effective meetings.
● Ability to train staff on how to effectively use school-defined instructional technologies, including software and hardware.
● Knowledge and skills in the application of audio-visual materials and technologies in an educational setting.

Preferred
● Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, preferably in Educational Technology or related course of study.
● Current teaching credential.
● Knowledge of Common Core standards, especially as they apply to technology.
● Previous troubleshooting experience and knowledge of audio/video academic technology such as televisions, document cameras, projection equipment, sound systems, cameras, and other peripheral devices.
● Knowledge of Apple, Windows, and iPad (IOS) computers and related equipment and operating systems, with strong skills in multimedia formats.
● Experience working with graphic design, vector based graphics and 3-D graphics.
● Experience with laser cutting/etching and 3-D printing.
● Familiar with Google Drive, cloud based storage and workflow solutions, Photoshop, Office, iWork, and iLife.

Salary and benefits are competitive. Salary is dependent upon years of teaching experience. Benefits package includes employee coverage for medical, dental and vision insurance, paid holiday time, sick time and 403(b) retirement savings plan.
