Personal qualities such as curiosity, flexibility, versatility, and resilience are desirable, as is a willingness to tackle new challenges with an open mind and to work collaboratively with students and faculty alike.

The Fenn School is fully committed to a culturally diverse faculty and student body. The ideal candidate will be able to support Fenn’s mission in all work with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Fenn strongly encourages applications from traditionally underrepresented groups.

Primary responsibilities include the ability to:

  • Act as a guide and coach for all faculty, encouraging, inspiring, and supporting them in the exploration of innovative and purposeful uses of technology.

  • Train and support teachers in the use of Apple TV, and classroom use of iPads, Macs and Windows.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, the Director of Technology, the Director of Innovation and Design Thinking, and Library Director.

  • In consultation with the Director of Technology, the Assistant Head of School for the Academic Program, and the Director of Innovation and Design Thinking, design, coordinate, and provide technology-related professional development for faculty on both a planned and “just-in-time” basis.

  • Serve as the “first line of defense” for technology support requests and AV setups.

  • Research and bring to the classroom suggestions for innovative technologies, projects, and other resources.

  • Enthusiastically champion successes of students and faculty in their achievements with technology integration across all grades and subjects.

  • Articulate a compelling, energetic, and compassionate vision for academic technology.

  • Provide technical support to Summer Fenn Day Camp and programs during the summer.

In addition to a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a minimum of two years teaching experience, and strong organizational skills, the successful applicant will also have the following:

  • Knowledge of design thinking and project-based learning (PBL) principles, and experience applying these principles to teaching and learning.

  • Experience in a 1-to-1 school device program, preferably with iPads.

  • Experience with the Google suite of applications on iOS, OS X and Windows devices.

  • Experience creating and conducting professional development opportunities.

  • Willingness to research, learn and share new technologies with students and faculty.

  • Excellent communication skills: written, oral, and listening.

  • Excellent organizational, management, and execution skills.

  • Collaborative working style, responsible team member, flexible and willing to pitch in to do whatever needs to be done.

  • Good sense of humor!
