Our Technology Integrator/Educator will assist teachers in elementary, middle and high school to enhance learning through improved integration of technology. The primary focus of this position is to enrich and support teaching and learning while strengthening the technology skills of students, teachers and staff. Our Technology Integrator/Educator will assist classroom teachers in the incorporation of technological hardware and software into their lesson plans. They will work under the direction of the Head of School and work collaboratively with the instructional team as they support the school improvement efforts and continue to build the technological instructional capacity for Clark overall. Knowledge, experience and successful implementation of instructional technology is required. Position will require direct interaction with students and adults in a teaching capacity. Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technology in Education or a related area of study and/or demonstrates the skills of instructional technology competencies evidenced by effective classroom implementation

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of verifiable elementary, middle, or high school classroom teaching experience

  • Demonstrated teaching and leadership, written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of teaching techniques, curriculum and staff development

  • Have clear goals and strategies for integrating technology into the curriculum such as Web Quests, online resources, digital portfolios and other forms of assessment

  • Experience with effective technology teaching strategies in teaching software and hardware skills

  • Ability to coach and teach both children and adults

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative

Specific Training/Skills:

  • Must be Google Level 1 certified, would prefer Google Level 2

  • Strong technology skills in Google Suite, Web page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, image processing, and graphics applications

Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

  • Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students while teaching high-quality curriculum in a fun and exciting way

  • Knowledge and ability to teach classes in use of iPad and Apple TV, HTML, web publishing, programming languages (Scratch, Unity, Ruby), LEGO Robotics, 3-D Modeling applications (Sketch Up, Tinker cad, Rhino, Blender), game making applications (Minecraft, Stencyl, Game Salad, Game Maker), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, as well as several word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and imaging applications

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers in the development of lesson plans that encompass the use of technology

  • Assess technology skill levels of students, teachers and staff

  • Participate in Professional Development opportunities (including attending ISTE and other conferences) and implement school-based professional development opportunities for faculty and staff

  • Provide direct support to teachers, and be able to train our teachers to take the Google Level 1 and 2 tests

  • Coordinate selection of technologies for all subject areas and develop guides and other support materials as necessary

  • Create learning resources for teachers, staff and students, which may include web sites, tutorials, interactive programs and databases that support teachers in integrating technology

  • Participate in cooperative long-range planning to make the most effective use of resources

  • Consult on the technology budget for computer resources, including hardware, software, learning resources and training needs

  • Create, maintain and oversee integration of the school’s technology plan in collaboration with The Head of School

This role may offer the opportunity to lead or take part in enrichment classes, after school activities, and/or summer camp, as available and desired.

A Massachusetts teaching certificate is a plus, but not required. All employees are subject to a CORI background investigation and fingerprinting, per Massachusetts law.
