Salary Range: $48,132 - $59,057

Position Purpose
To assist the campus in providing Instructional Technology leadership in order to promote the educational development of teachers and staff to engage learners and prepare students for success in college, career and community leadership. The Technology Learning Coach will provide guidance in designing and developing technology professional learning opportunities for staff, as well as delivering training to teachers to engage learners. Additionally, technology learning coaches will work with campus administrators to model, co-teach and assist teachers with the effective use of digital tools and resources based on campus action plans. They will train end-users in the use of digital tools and resources, as well as provide relevant and engaging professional development that is aligned with district and campus technology plans.  May provide guidance and leadership for the management of the student devices for the DiG iN 1:1 Student Laptop Program.

Essential Functions

  • Will work with campus administrator, SBDM and teachers to review, design, implement, and monitor campus-specific training for the purpose of engaging students.
  • Will support the campus in articulating and communicating the goals and vision of the school and the Division of Technology.
  • Will monitor the Instructional Technology progress of teachers and staff through collaboration with the principal to evaluate progress.
  • Will help to develop and implement short and long-range technology plans.
  • Will work with campus administrators and staff to plan and implement the distribution and collection processes.
  • Will facilitate inventory management.
  • May work with campus administrators to plan and conduct community information session and orientation for the DiG iN 1:1 Student Laptop Program.
  • Will assist the principal in directing the implementation and use of technology with classroom observations, conferences, and demonstration lessons to improve instruction.
  • Will assist teachers and staff with addressing technology concerns.
  • Will remain current in effective Instructional Technology methods.
  • Will provide support in the delivery of Instructional Technology instruction through demonstration and instructional assistance.
  • Will provide feedback to the principal regarding teacher, staff and student technology usage.
  • Will work as a member of the Instructional Technology team to support and implement Professional Development initiatives.
  • Will provide support in developing and adjusting technology professional development to accomodate the District's strategic plan.
  • Will perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiation of instruction through the use of technology based tools that target student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of elementary/secondary school curriculum and concepts.
  • Knowledge of best practices in pedagogy and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education, as well as district policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to develop and implement plans in all areas of the instructional program.

  • Ability to create new professional development training courses (manuals, presentations, handouts, quick reference guides, video tutorials, online classes, webinars, etc.) to aid end-users with skill enhancement and personal/professional development.
  • Utilize an identified scheduling system to schedule individual meetings, small group trainings, and large group trainings on campuses.
  • Act as a mentor to the campus Technology Integration Educator (TIE) and other teachers.
  • Promote and create professional development opportunities for teachers.
  • Understand, practice, and know how to implement and educate teachers on the Technology TEKS.
  • Report to Coordinator to provide training, support, and monitoring for identified campuses.
  • Re-deliver district trainings on professional development days, after school, and Saturday workshops.

Certification/License:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate.
  • At least three years of experience as a successful classroom teacher.

Education/Experience:

  • Knowledge of the MS Office Suites; 2010/2013, Office 365.
  • Focus on providing positive customer service.
  • Analytical skills in identifying business and technology trends, needs and issues.
  • Proven ability to build, guide, organize, and work cooperatively with others to complete technical projects.

Demonstrated experience in:

  • Developing and delivering professional development programs.
  • Working with professional development delivery teams.
  • Coordinating, planning, organizing, and facilitating staff development.
  • The use of SAMR as a model for technology integration in the classroom.

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including principles of English and grammatical usage.
  • Work interactively with practicing teachers and principals.
  • Demonstrate strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Articulate technical and management issues in a concise professional manner.
  • Exercise discretion regarding matters of sensitive or confidential nature.
  • Facilitate and conduct group meetings with Division of Technology staff, campus-based staff, students, parents and community as needed.
  • Promote District mission at local, state and nation conferences.

  • Work cooperatively with supervisor and Division of Technology leadership to meet Division of Technology goals and to implement district-wide technology initiatives.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and adjust to changing conditions in a dynamic work environment.
  • Work cooperatively with other Instructional Technology professionals in a collaborative office environment.
  • Learn new software applications or web-based tools and develop materials to deliver knowledge transfer to others.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues to support campus instructional staff with the integration of technology.

Standard administrator work schedule as set forth in the Administrative Contract.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee must maintain emotional control under stress, and occasionally work prolonged and/or irregular hours. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The work environment is a standard office setting including standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone, computer, 10-key, etc.).
