Incumbent is responsible to assist in the development of lesson plans and teach Technology Classes for students in grades Pre-K through Grade 8 He/she will adhere to requirements and curriculum outlined by the State, National and Cincinnati Catholic Standards for Technology and Library. The individual will manage all aspects of the Library, Technology Center and Lab and the future Innovation Center. He/she is responsible to assist in the maintenance of the Library and School Databases’, Collection Development and Circulation. He/she will troubleshoot software and hardware issues and resolve directly when able to; manage and prioritize external third party IT staff to resolve outstanding issues when necessary.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the maintenance of the Library Database, Collection Development and Circulation including Circulation Desk Processing.

  • Assist in preparing Title grants and ordering equipment.

  • Tech Support for School Software Databases including Admin Plus (SIS System), Plus Portal Parent Communication, Plus Portal Gradebook, Discovery Video, Scholastic Reading Program, Destiny Follett Library Software, Read, Write and Type, Type to Learn, Quiz Interactive, IXL Math, LA SS and Science, Bartolo Picture Export and Excel reports from database.

  • Data Entry and School Database maintenance is required.

  • Design School Supply Lists, Flyers and Programs as needed.

  • Provide research assistance to students, faculty and staff in topic searches.

  • Train and develop faculty and staff in Technology and assist with Gradebook issues when needed.

  • Lead and administer Teacher Training Sessions as needed.

  • Tech Support (troubleshoot, maintain) software and hardware throughout the school, classrooms, Technology Center, Lab, Library and future Innovation Center.

  • Assist with software and hardware upgrades. Add or update workstations.

  • Perform routine maintenance and updates for performance efficiency.

  • Supervise and process help desk support requests.

  • Set-up and maintenance of printers, routers, modems and smart devices are ensure they are both functional and secure.

  • Create and maintain a positive and academically focused learning environment, with the ability to engage students in Technology.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as families, co-workers and administrators.

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of technology including computers, technology hardware and software and the internet.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem solving skills including technical hardware and software.

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance in connection with the preparation and organization of the classroom and the assistance of children, including any potential emergency situations.

  • Physical aspects will include, but are not limited to, walking, sitting, bending and stooping.

  • Must maintain all required professional licenses and certifications and attend any required training and staff meetings as directed by the principal.

Candidate Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Computer Science with an emphasis on Technology.

  • Minimum four years’ experience working in a school environment as an Assistant or Teacher in a Computer Science, Technology or STEM environment; demonstrated experience with Technology curriculum.

  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of all required software programs including Microsoft, Adobe and School Database Management Systems. Knowledge and experience utilizing Apple Products including iMacs and iPads.

  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and analyzing hardware and software issues including peripherals.
