Members of the Technology Team at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School play a strategic leadership role in advancing the mission of the School:

The Technology Specialist position is a full time position reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for supporting and assisting with all issues relating to desktop and laptop hardware and software and assists with general network and server maintenance. The Technology Specialist ensures the best classroom experience for teachers and students and strives to meet the standards outline in (i)Plan17, the School’s strategic plan.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience
Mount Vernon Presbyterian School seeks a full-time innovative and collaborative Technology Specialist for the upcoming school year. Versatility, collaboration, and openness to innovative technology practices and procedures is essential. Teaching certification and three years of classroom experience is recommended. Relative technology certifications are a plus.

Essential Duties
Provide day-to-day technical support to students, faculty and staff in person, phone, chat, or email.
Perform onsite repairs and manage warranty depot repairs of laptops, desktops and other classroom or office technology.
Manage, deploy and update desktop PC’s, laptops, mobile devices, printers, projectors and other classroom or office technology.
Documents work and maintains an accurate inventory in IT tracking software.
Proactively facilitates the use of existing and emerging technologies by faculty, staff and students

Qualifications
Organized, detail oriented with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to train users in the use of school technologies.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Works collaboratively with individuals of all skill levels.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
