Gill St. Bernard’s School an independent, nonsectarian, college preparatory day school for students Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, located in Gladstone, New Jersey, is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual to join our community as a Technology Specialist. 

The Technology Specialist helps facilitate implementation of the school’s technology plan and integration of technology in all aspects of school life. This position provides support, guidance and instruction on the use of school hardware and software and takes the lead in innovative technology education through support of 3D printing, physical computing, robotics and other related educational technology initiatives. The Technology Specialist is part of the Technology department, reporting to the Director of Technology. It is a 12- month position.

 Primary responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and support all end user school technology, including computers, printers, network devices, phone, and other physical technologies.
  • Maintain and support classroom technology such as interactive displays, document cameras, etc.
  • Develop and manage a student tech team.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on new technologies and initiatives.
  • Advise Director of Technology on technology issues and needs within the school.
  • Support student technology use in a BYOD environment through student technology orientation, 1 to 1 help and guiding acceptable use.
  • Provide support and organization for our innovative technology spaces. Workwith students and teachers to integrate technologies such as 3D printers, VR/AR, robotics, Raspberry Pi. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field Or two years of professional experience in supporting both Windows and Apple devices.
  • Proficient in both Windows 10 and Mac OS.
  • Any of the following desirable: A+ certification, experience with Python, Java, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and/or robotics.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical abilities and the patience to work through problems and filter information from faculty and students.
