Saint David’s School, an independent elementary school for boys, located in Manhattan, seeks a technology support associate. This is a new position with a flexible schedule.
The Technology Support Associate should demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, punctual, flexible, and detail-oriented. The support person will work closely with our students, faculty, staff and will need to demonstrate the ability to provide great customer service and resolve issues competently.

The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of PC and Apple hardware and its associated apps (MS Office suite, Smart Notebook, Firefox etc). Hardware includes laptops, tablets (Apple IOS), as well as mobile devices. The candidate should also be familiar with cloud based services and solutions (e.g. Google Apps). Experience with printers, projectors, digital cameras, Cisco VoIP phones, and A/V systems is very important, as well as a basic understanding of networked environments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and web-related issues. Installing and upgrading hardware/software on Epson Brightlink and Smartboards, including working with our outside vendors if escalation is required
Managing deployment and inventory of school owned equipment to students, faculty and staff
Updating and managing web-based helpdesk systems, creating and updating training materials for faculty and staff, student log-on and administrative functions on Portal and Active Directory
Working in a calm, courteous and professional manner with individuals across a range of technological expertise
Prioritizing work responsibilities to best prevent disruption of classroom instruction and administrative workflow
Setting up and coordinating A/V needs for special events, which sometimes occur outside of normal working hours
Working on miscellaneous projects/tasks assigned by department supervisor
Required skills and abilities:
Bachelor degree in computer engineering or related field
A+ and Network+ Certification and other technology certification are preferred
Minimum 3 - 5 years in a Windows environment including but not limited to: Window 7/8, PC and Apple hardware, Apple OS X software, printers, interactive whiteboards (i.e. Smart, Epson), projectors, and level one network support
Symantec Ghost and Acronics
Familiarity with Exchange 2010 and 2013 Preferred
Knowledge of networking protocols including: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VOIP.
Knowledge of Blackbaud, Active Directory, Alcatel switches, Barracuda, VMware, Windows Server 2008 and 2012 are plus but not required
Prior experience working in an educational institution strongly preferred. Must have excellent communication skills, good organizational skills and ability to self-direct and prioritize
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is essential; a sense of humor is appreciated
Physical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of printer, computer, network, and AV equipment.
Ability to climb ladders and utilize power tools to install and repair computer, network, and AV equipment.
Ability to crawl under or around furniture
