Job Summary

South Mountain Community College is hiring a Technology Support Coordinator (System Image Specialist)

Plans and implements the management of all college computers by creating computer images, deployable software packages, and developing automation scripts. Manages software licensing and works with vendors to negotiate hardware and software purchases.

Essential Functions

65% - Administers Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager server; creates computer images and test deployments; configures and tests applications for deployment.

15% - Provides professional, client-focused technical support and troubleshooting via multiple modalities including telephone, face-to-face, electronic messaging, and remote access in a timely manner; provides support ticket status updates when requested.

10% - Manages software licensing and negotiates with vendors regarding hardware and software purchases. 

5% - Develops high quality documentation for both internal and external knowledge bases.

5% - Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one year of technical experience in area directly related to assignment. Some assignments may require additional technical training and/or vendor/technical certifications.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology related field from an accredited academic institution.

  2. Three or more years of experience providing technical support within an educational institution.

  3. Two or more years of experience administering devices via Microsoft SCCM or a similar product.

  4. Two or more years of experience administering a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution.

  5. Experience creating computer OS images and deployable software packages using industry standard tools and methodologies.

  6. Administrative scripting experience such as PowerShell, Bash, VB, etc.

  7. Apple deployment experience – JAMF, Deploy Studio, or Munki.

Special Working Conditions

May be required to work evenings and/or weekends to meet needs of department.  May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.  This position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality.
