The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland (BL), an independent K-12 boys’ school, seeks a full-time Tech Support Specialist with the ability to work as a strategic member of the BL Technology Team starting in September 2020. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the successful applicant will install, configure, deploy, troubleshoot, maintain, and integrate the various cross-platform computing elements - software, hardware, classroom technology, audio-visual and communications equipment, and more - throughout the BL campus. 

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years Technical Support: setup, configuration, deployment, troubleshooting of desktop/notebook and mobile computing devices in a networked environment as follows:

  • Familiarity with TCP/IP and related network services (DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, SSO concepts and administration

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve service issues in a timely and systematic manner using industry-standard best practices

  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to take the initiative and work independently

  • Prioritize and multi-task…in a fast-paced and multifarious environment

  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical people

  • Ability to climb a ladder to service classroom projectors and similar equipment

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds

  • A minimum of an associate degree is preferred
