Archmere Academy, a private, Catholic college-preparatory co-ed high school north of Wilmington, DE seeks a dedicated individual to serve as a Technology Support Specialist. The ability to work closely with students, staff, and faculty is a key component of this position as is a high level of organization. Necessary training will be provided by the technology staff of Archmere.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 support for students, faculty, and staff. 

  • Manage the upkeep and distribution of loaner laptops

  • Maintain a record of support requests. Distribute requests to tech staff as needed

  • Maintain inventory records of hardware & software.

  • Assist with AV setup for events (will require some evening & weekend time)

  • Provide faculty tech support, such as Examsoft.

  • Assist with provisioning laptops for new students, faculty, and staff.

  • Provide support for New Student Orientation Programming including leading small group sessions.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of Mac OS X 

  • A willingness to learn the components associated with the management of a large number of devices.

  • Strong communication skills both oral & written. 

  • The ability to work effectively in a one-on-one setting with members of the Archmere community with a variety of technical skills. 

  • The ability to work independently, take direction, and see tasks through to completion.

  • A positive approach to work and a willingness to learn new things.

Physical Demands

  • This is an onsite position: 25 -30 hours/week

  • Must be able to travel between 7 buildings on campus. 

  • The ability to safely & comfortably lift at least 30 lbs.

  • Must be able to comfortably climb, bend, reach, kneel, stoop, & vision that allows for near and far work.

  • Must be able to view & operate a computer for extended periods.
